Frequently asked questions
No. DigiShakti does not have an income limit. Any student enrolled in a recognised institution in UP who meets the course and college criteria is eligible, regardless of family income. This is different from the UP Scholarship scheme which has income limits.
It depends. Private colleges that are affiliated to a UP university and registered with UPDESCO are included. However, many private unaided colleges are not registered. Ask your college administration whether they are registered on the DigiShakti UPDESCO portal and whether they have uploaded student data.
No. Students do not need to apply or register themselves for the DigiShakti scheme. Your college uploads your enrollment data to the UPDESCO portal. Once uploaded, you complete eKYC on digishakti.up.gov.in using your Aadhaar OTP. That is all you need to do.
The scheme distributes both tablets and smartphones depending on availability and your course level. The specific device model allocated to you is decided by UPDESCO and your college. Popular models distributed include Samsung and Realme tablets and smartphones with pre-loaded educational content.
Most common reasons: (1) No mobile number linked to Aadhaar — update at Aadhaar Seva Kendra. (2) Name or DOB mismatch between college record and Aadhaar — ask college registrar to correct your UPDESCO record. (3) Portal timing — try during off-peak hours (6 AM–8 AM or after 11 PM).
